"By constructing these two buildings of our own, we've played around with different types of materials and techniques and technologies," says Lazzari. "We did that, not only because we wanted to learn, but it became a case study for us. We were the designers, the builders and the users. It's a great tool to sit down with a designer or owner and say 'we've done it.'"

The projects propelled the company into the position as a leading green construction company in the southeastern United States.
